About Howard Katzman
Howard Katzman is a consultant in home performance and green building based in Atlanta, Georgia.
Howard conducts home performance assessments for homeowners. He has consulted for the states of Maryland, Georgia and California to develop Home Performance with ENERGY STAR programs, and developed industry-related training curricula and program standards for Saturn Resource and Management and RJ Karg and Associates. Howard has conducted trainings in home performance contracting nationwide.
Prior to 2007, he was employed by Southface Energy Institute for five and one-half years as a Residential Green Building Services Project Manager. He managed the Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, Radon, and EarthCraft Renovation programs providing technical assistance and training for contractors. He also managed the Radon outreach program and the delivery of technical services for builders and homeowners.
Howard conducted trainings for Home Performance with ENERGY STAR, EarthCraft Renovation, the Home Energy Rater System, the Southface Homebuilding School, and on topics such as mold prevention and advanced HVAC. From 2005-14 he served as a director of the Building Performance Institute, a standards and certification/accreditation body for the home performance contracting industry. His expertise has been sought for a variety of broadcast and print media.
